Technical Manager – Canned & Bottled Goods
Based in Normanton, West Yorkshire

A wholly owned subsidiary of a leading supermarket chain is currently looking to recruit for an accomplished Technical Manager at their site in Normanton, West Yorkshire. The Role:
This is a pivotal role within the business. You would take full responsibility for the technical department and its team, providing innovative and cost-effective technical solutions to meet the demands of customers and exceeding performance targets.

You will be accountable for maintaining and improving standards of GMP appropriate to a quality food manufacturer, representing the company with both external and internal customers by developing and improving existing and new relationships, including robust cross-functional links. You would also be expected to maintain hygiene, food safety and Health & Safety standards, conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements,

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the role will hold a formal scientific qualification, preferably to Degree level, a Food Hygiene Certificate to advanced level and HACCP certification, and must have a proven track record in technical services within a food production environment. Good auditing skills/experience will also be required. Commercially and financially astute, with sound business judgment, you have a sound grasp of the commercial impact of your own decision-making. An understanding or knowledge of canning and pasteurisation would also be an advantage.

You will be a confident, self-motivated and well organised individual with excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent communication and influencing skills will also be required as will good IT skills.
