21 Songs That Sum Up the Working Week

21 Songs That Sum Up the Working Week

It’s a hard life being a human.

Work, work, work, work, work working away.

I don’t know about you, but my weeks tend to follow a similar pattern.

Each day brings a new challenge, a new office atmosphere and a new mood. So this week, (just for a laugh) I’ve pulled together some songs that reflect these daily changes.

Let’s take a look…

1. Monday.

I’m sure you’ve felt that Monday morning dread before (how has the weekend gone so quickly?) but is it really all that bad when you get there – it’s just another manic Monday, isn’t it?

2. The Mamas and Papas – Monday Monday. (In case you are a Monday person.)

3. The Boomtown Rats – I don’t like Mondays.

The latter has a more serious message, but it’s too great a song to ignore.

4. Terrible Tuesday.

I personally prefer Mondays to Tuesdays.

Why? Well, Tuesdays are still too far away from the weekend to get excited but they’re usually a lot less hectic than Mondays, so they can drag more.

Don’t you just want to break free?

Seriously, Science agrees with me!

5. Hot Chip – Over and Over.

6. Oscar Brown Jr – Hum Drum Blues

7. Hump Day.

Woop! You’ve reached Hump Day and things are starting to look up.

8. Bon Jovi – Living on a Prayer (because we’re halfway there!)

9. Monty Python – Always Look On The Bright Side of Life

10. Thursday.

By the time you’ve hit Thursday, the weekend is well and truly in sight. You waltz around the office, optimistic and ready party. (You may even be going out for a cheeky couple tonight…)

Of course you still have two whole days left – so don’t give up yet!

11. Queen – The Show Must Go On

12. The Kinks – This Time Tomorrow

Friday; it’s a beautiful day! (Don’t let it get away).

14. Pointer Sisters – I’m so excited.

15. They Might Be Giants – Boss Of Me (Malcolm in the Middle).

16. Saturday.

Waking up at 6.45am and realising you don’t have to get out of bed is the best feeling. Freedom.

Maybe we should start a petition to have 2 Saturdays a week!

17. The Beach Boys – Good Vibrations

18. Lynyrd Skynyrd – Free Bird

19. Sunday (evening…)

You know that moment, on a Sunday evening, when you realise the weekend is over and you’re going to work the next morning…

Hello darkness my old friend.

20. Billie Holiday – Gloomy Sunday

21. Gary Jules – Mad World

Recognise some of these feelings?

I know, I know, some of these are a little bit doom and gloom (Sunday…) but don’t take us too seriously. We love our jobs.
