They operate a locally hosted (on-premise) IT infrastructure and are seeking an experienced IT professional to help maintain, support and strengthen their technology environment.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and experienced IT Support Specialist to join their team on a part-time basis for a six-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on role that combines frontline IT support with broader systems administration responsibilities. You will act as the primary point of contact for technical support across the organisation, ensuring our systems remain secure, resilient and efficient.

The role is primarily remote, with one day per week required on-site at their London office, near Victoria station.

Key Responsibilities

Operational IT Support

  • Provide first-line IT support to staff, resolving hardware and software issues both remotely and on-site
  • Install, configure and maintain operating systems and software applications
  • Install, upgrade and repair computer hardware including laptops, workstations, printers, telephones and cabling
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and password resets
  • Support staff onboarding and offboarding, including device provisioning and account setup
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory records
  • Support and maintain SIP phone systems

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Administer and manage the Microsoft 365 environment, including licensing, security and user management
  • Monitor and maintain on-premise network infrastructure including routers, switches and cabling
  • Manage firewall configuration and network security policies
  • Install, configure and maintain on-premise servers to ensure performance and reliability

Security, Backup & Business Continuity

  • Maintain and test backup systems to ensure data protection and recoverability
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Monitor cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, taking appropriate protective action
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and IT security policies

Strategic IT Contribution

  • Support the CEO and external consultants with the development of the organisation’s IT strategy and roadmap
  • Contribute to IT governance documentation, policies and procedures
  • Help identify technology improvements and cost optimisation opportunities
  • Provide practical input into aligning IT systems with operational needs
  • Proven experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally within a small organisation or charity

What are we looking for?

  • Strong knowledge of on-premise IT infrastructure including MS Servers, networking, firewalls and workstations
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve a broad range of technical issues independently
  • Experience managing network infrastructure including switches, routers and firewalls
  • Understanding of backup systems, disaster recovery and data protection principles
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational and time-management skills
  • A commitment to the values and mission of the charity sector

Desirable

We are recruiting for a passionate and resilient Care Manager to oversee two specialist residential services in and around Harrow, supporting adults with complex learning disabilities and high support needs.

These are small, person-centred services with a strong focus on quality care and positive outcomes, including a high level of 2-to-1 support.

The Role

As Care Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of both services, managing and supporting a dedicated team of 11 staff per service, including Deputies, Team Leaders, Seniors and Care Workers.

Requirements
