Electrical Design Engineer

The Role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for a range of tasks:

• Produce detailed electrical designs and documentation using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software.
• Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and control panel layouts.
• Specify and select electrical equipment in line with project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and regulations.
• Manage and coordinate design projects, overseeing the full project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors to meet design specifications.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.

The Candidate:

The ideal Electrical Design Engineer will have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• 2–3 years’ experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Strong understanding of system integration and UK electrical standards.
• Experience in supporting installation and commissioning activities.
• Excellent technical, analytical, and project coordination skills.

• Engage with warm leads by calling back individuals who have submitted online enquiries and convert these into sales.
• Handle inbound telephone enquiries from both potential business clients and the general public.
• Focus on an end-to-end sales process, from providing quotes to closing deals, ideally within a single call.
• Identify opportunities to upsell additional services to customers.

• Previous experience in telesales.
• Proven ability to manage the entire sales process, from quote to close.
• Experience in handling both B2B and general public enquiries.
• A proactive approach to upselling and identifying customer needs.

• Processing orders with supply chain for products and materials.
• Ensuring lead times and delivery dates from supply chain are managed and communicated to other departments as required.
• To calculate part requirements from work schedules.
• Ensure all costs are entered on the ERP software and prices checked prior to ordering.
• Ensuring customer is kept up to date with order status and delivery date to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and pricing.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing activities.
• Assist in resolving any issues related to procurement or supplier performance.

• Advanced level of MS Excel required for creating, managing and analysing data for production figures and reports
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions based on market trends.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle challenges proactively.
