A well-established, family-run engineering business operating in the M&E side of the building sector is seeking a commercially driven Sales Leader to take ownership of its next growth phase.
With a solid reputation and a capable, experienced sales team already in place, the business is now looking for a dynamic individual to provide direction, sharpen strategy, and unlock larger-scale opportunities.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear mandate: manage and develop an established team while personally driving the acquisition of high-value clients—particularly main contractors—across both lapsed accounts and new business.
The Role
The appointed Sales Manager / Head of Sales / Sales Director will:
- Lead, mentor, and energise a small but capable sales team
- Define and execute a clear sales strategy focused on growth and market expansion
- Re-engage lapsed clients while proactively targeting new, high-value opportunities
- Build strong relationships with main contractors and key decision-makers
- Take ownership of major tender submissions, ensuring quality, competitiveness, and alignment with client needs
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery from bid to project completion
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven success selling into the M&E sector within the construction or building services industry
- Strong experience working with main contractors
- A track record of securing large-scale contracts and managing complex tender processes
