Want a sales role where you can actually get out, meet customers and build relationships rather than spend all day chained to a phone?

We’re recruiting for an established local media business with a loyal and significant audience across both print and digital.

They’re looking for a Media Sales Executive to join their small, friendly sales team, working with local businesses to help them promote themselves to customers across the area.

This is a proper relationship-led sales role. You’ll look after existing advertisers while also getting out and winning new business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing and developing existing local business accounts
  • Identifying and winning new advertisers
  • Meeting customers face-to-face across the local area
  • Selling print and digital advertising solutions

What we’re looking for:

You’ll ideally have some B2B sales experience, but we’re more interested in your ability to talk to people, build relationships and spot a commercial opportunity.

You’ll need to be confident picking up the phone, comfortable walking into a local business and introducing yourself, and equally happy sitting down with an established customer to discuss their next campaign.

You don’t need media experience. You do need to be personable, proactive and commercially switched on.

The role will be a mixture of office-based work and getting out to see customers, with the potential for some home working once established.

If you like the idea of selling something with a genuine local audience, working with businesses you can actually get to know and having plenty of freedom to develop your patch, we’d like to hear from you.

Commercial Sales Manager

This is a sales management role for a dealmaker, not a KPI manager.

Our client operates in the fast-moving world of commercial partnerships, connecting major brands with high-profile opportunities across professional sport.

They have an established and successful sales team and are now looking for a Commercial Sales Manager to help take things to the next level.

The team know how to open doors, develop opportunities and build relationships.

Your job is to help them get the big deals over the line.

You’ll lead from the front, getting involved when opportunities become larger, more complex or simply need some commercial creativity to make them happen.

That could mean helping shape the proposition, working out what will make a deal stack up, joining senior-level negotiations or finding a different route when a potential agreement stalls.

It needs someone with a bit of a trader mentality. Commercially sharp, comfortable negotiating significant deals and instinctively looking for the angle that works for both sides.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing and supporting an established B2B sales team
  • Getting directly involved in larger and higher-value opportunities
  • Helping salespeople develop, structure and close complex deals
  • Joining negotiations with senior commercial decision-makers
  • Challenging how opportunities are approached and progressed
  • Coaching the team and improving their commercial effectiveness
  • Identifying where additional value can be created within a deal
  • Providing leadership without burying good salespeople in unnecessary process

What We’re Looking For

You’ll already have experience managing a successful B2B sales team.

Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who loves the commercial side of selling.

You’ll understand negotiation. You’ll know when to push and when to compromise. You’ll be comfortable getting into the detail of a deal and finding a way to make it work.

You’ll need:

  • Proven sales management experience
  • A strong track record in complex B2B sales
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills
  • Experience dealing with senior-level decision-makers
  • Strong commercial judgement
  • A genuine interest in sport
  • The confidence to lead experienced salespeople without micromanaging them

..........someone from another fast-moving, high-value commercial sales environment could be exactly what they are looking for.

What matters is that you can lead good salespeople, understand what makes a deal work and know how to turn “we’re interested” into “where do we sign?”

If you’re the person your sales team wants alongside them when there’s a serious deal on the table, we’d like to hear from you.

Site Foreman

Are you an experienced carpenter, joiner or exhibition stand builder who can do more than just work on the tools?

Maybe you're already supervising a workshop. Or perhaps you're the experienced person everyone turns to when a job needs organising, a problem needs solving or the team needs pointing in the right direction.

Either way, this could be a very good next move.

We're recruiting for an established business that designs and builds bespoke exhibition stands for clients across the UK and Europe.

They need a hands-on Workshop Supervisor / Foreman to work alongside the Production Manager and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy workshop.

This is not an office-based management job.

You'll still be involved in production carpentry yourself, but you'll also be the person making sure everyone knows what they're doing, materials are available, jobs are progressing and potential problems are spotted before they become expensive ones.

What will you be doing?

  • Supervising and supporting the workshop team
  • Working hands-on with production carpentry
  • Allocating work and keeping jobs moving through production
  • Planning around upcoming projects and deadlines
  • Checking drawings and production information before work starts
  • Monitoring progress and identifying potential delays
  • Making sure materials and stock are available when needed

You'll also get out of the workshop.

The business installs exhibition stands at venues around the UK and occasionally Europe. You'll take the lead on site when required, so there will be some travel and overnight stays.

What are we looking for?

We're particularly interested in people from exhibition stand building, shopfitting, set building, bespoke joinery or similar environments.

You don't necessarily need to have spent years with "Supervisor" or "Foreman" on your job title.

If you're an experienced tradesperson who already takes responsibility for other people, organises jobs and naturally takes the lead, we'd be interested in talking to you.

You'll need to be practical, organised and comfortable dealing with people. Most importantly, you need to understand that good supervision isn't about standing back and telling everyone else what to do.

When things get busy, you'll be in there with the team getting the job finished.

What can you earn?

We'll be upfront: the basic hourly rate isn't top dollar. The overall earning potential is considerably better.

The basic rate is £16.67 per hour for a 40-hour week, equivalent to approximately £34,700 a year.

On top of that you'll receive:

  • £175 per week Foreman allowance, worth approximately £9,100 a year
  • Overtime at time and a half - £25 per hour
  • Weekly tool allowance
  • 22 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • Company pension
  • Expenses covered when working away

The nature of exhibition work means overtime is regularly available.

With relatively modest overtime, total earnings are around £50,000 a year, while someone averaging around 10 hours' overtime per week would earn approximately £57,000.

During particularly busy periods, there is scope to earn more.

So if you're looking purely for the highest hourly rate, this probably isn't the job for you.

But if you want to remain hands-on, take on more responsibility and have the opportunity to earn £50k+ through the Foreman allowance and overtime, it's well worth a conversation.

Exhibition Carpenter / Woodworker

Fancy a woodworking job where you don't spend every day staring at the same four workshop walls?

We're recruiting an experienced Woodworker / Carpenter to join an established business designing, building and installing exhibition stands for clients across the UK and occasionally Europe.

It's a genuinely varied role. Roughly half your time will be spent in the workshop building and preparing stands, with the other half out on site installing them and, once the exhibition is over, taking them back down again.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building and assembling exhibition stands in the workshop
  • Working from drawings and specifications
  • Preparing stands and components ready for installation
  • Travelling to exhibition venues around the UK
  • Installing and dismantling stands on site
  • Occasionally travelling to European exhibitions
  • Working as part of an experienced build and installation team

Because of the nature of exhibitions, there will be overtime and some overnight stays. Overtime is paid at time and a half, so there is good scope to earn considerably more than the basic hourly rate.

When you're working away, your travel and associated expenses are covered.

We're looking for someone who already knows their way around woodworking and carpentry. Experience building exhibition stands, sets, displays or shopfitting would be particularly useful.

You'll need to be practical, reliable and comfortable working to deadlines. You'll also need to be happy travelling and staying away occasionally when a job requires it.

A full driving licence is essential.

The basic rate is £16 per hour, which we appreciate isn't the highest in the market. However, for someone happy to put the hours in, the overtime at time and a half provides the opportunity to significantly increase overall earnings.

If you're a capable woodworker who enjoys variety, wants to get out of the workshop and doesn't mind travelling to see the finished job come together, this could be a great fit.
