Wolverhampton | Days | High-Volume Automated Manufacturing

If you're a strong Production Supervisor ready to run the show, this could be your step up.

We're recruiting for a modern, highly automated manufacturing site producing high-volume engineered components for automotive and wider industrial customers.

It's part of a substantial group, but the individual sites are given plenty of autonomy. This particular operation is relatively small, modern and fast-moving, with significant volumes passing through production every day.

They're looking for a hands-on Production Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of manufacturing.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage production from a spreadsheet.

You'll need to be visible on the shop floor, understand what's happening, spot problems early and know your people, processes and equipment.

What you'll be doing

You'll take responsibility for:

  • Production planning and scheduling

  • Manpower and shift planning

  • Delivering output, quality and efficiency targets

  • Leading, training and motivating the production team

  • Health & Safety on the shop floor

  • Monitoring performance and addressing production issues

  • Driving continuous improvement

  • Working closely with Quality, Engineering and Maintenance

  • Ensuring production operates in line with IATF 16949 requirements

You'll report to an experienced General Manager who has been with the business for many years and knows the operation inside out.

They aren't looking for somebody to arrive and disappear again in 18 months. There's an opportunity to learn from him, really understand the operation and become an important part of the site's long-term future.

What we're looking for

You could already be a Production Manager, but we'd equally like to hear from an ambitious Production Supervisor / Manufacturing Supervisor ready to make the step up.

You'll need:

  • Production leadership experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Experience working within an IATF 16949 environment

  • Ideally experience of automotive, Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3 manufacturing

  • Experience of high-volume production

  • Strong planning and people-management skills

  • A practical, hands-on approach to manufacturing

Most importantly, you'll be someone who wants to be in the factory, not managing it from behind a desk.

If you're looking for the opportunity to take ownership of production within a modern manufacturing operation and develop alongside an experienced GM, we'd like to hear from you.

CLOSING SOON
Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Wolverhampton | Days | No Nights, Weekends or On-Call

A maintenance role where you can actually maintain equipment, rather than spend every shift firefighting.

We're recruiting for a modern, largely automated manufacturing site producing high-volume engineered components for automotive and wider industrial customers.

It's a relatively small operation within a much larger group, and we're looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to take responsibility for maintenance across the site.

You'll be the main maintenance engineer on site, working alongside an apprentice, so you'll need the confidence and breadth of knowledge to deal with whatever manufacturing throws at you.

The good news?

There's already a maintenance structure in place, with a genuine emphasis on planned and preventative maintenance rather than endless breakdowns.

And there's no night shift, weekend working or on-call rota.

The role

You'll look after a mixture of traditional manufacturing equipment and modern automated plant, including:

  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance

  • Planned and preventative maintenance

  • Fault finding and breakdown support

  • PLC-controlled machinery

  • Automated production equipment

  • Robotics

  • Motors, drives, sensors and associated electrical systems

  • Mechanical systems and traditional production equipment

  • Supporting equipment improvements and reliability projects

  • Working with and developing the site's maintenance apprentice

What we're looking for

You'll need to be a genuinely multi-skilled engineer, comfortable getting involved mechanically and electrically.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment

  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills

  • Good electrical maintenance and fault-finding ability

  • 18th Edition

  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment

  • Exposure to automation and/or robotics

  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance

  • The confidence to operate as the site's principal maintenance engineer

Automotive manufacturing experience would be useful, but isn't essential. What's more important is experience of maintaining high-volume production machinery and being equally comfortable with older mechanical equipment and modern automated systems.

This is a good opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants ownership of a site, varied equipment and sensible working hours without nights, weekends or being permanently attached to an on-call phone.

Sales
NEW
CLOSING SOON
Business Development Manager – Capital Equipment

Circa £55,000 + Bonus + Company Car + Generous Benefits
Home Based – Southern England

Sell engineered solutions that have a compelling commercial story: save money, reduce waste, improve efficiency, increase productivity and make better use of resources.

If you know how to turn those benefits into capital equipment orders, we’d like to hear from you.....

We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to grow an established territory across Southern England, selling capital equipment into manufacturing and industrial customers.

This is proper solution selling.

Customers aren’t simply choosing a machine and asking for a price. You’ll understand their production process, identify where improvements can be made and develop a solution that delivers a genuine commercial return.

That might mean reducing operating costs, cutting waste, improving productivity, making better use of materials or freeing up valuable production space.

Deals range from around £10k to £1m, with sales cycles anywhere from a few weeks to 12 months depending on the size and complexity of the project.

The role

You’ll take responsibility for a large, established territory covering everything south of Birmingham, working from home and spending much of your time with customers.

There’s an existing customer base and some pipeline to inherit, but this isn’t an account-management role. We need someone who enjoys developing relationships, spotting opportunities and winning new business.

You’ll:

  • Develop new business across manufacturing and industrial markets

  • Grow and develop existing customer accounts

  • Sell engineered capital equipment and integrated production solutions

  • Understand customers’ processes, challenges and commercial objectives

  • Develop solutions around efficiency, cost reduction, waste and productivity

  • Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through specification, proposal and negotiation to order

  • Handle both shorter-cycle opportunities and complex, high-value projects

  • Work closely with technical colleagues to develop the right solution

What we’re looking for

The key requirement is a track record of selling capital equipment into manufacturing or industrial customers.

You’ll be comfortable with:

  • Consultative, application-led or solution-based sales

  • Capital equipment rather than catalogue/product sales

  • Deal values ranging from tens of thousands into six or seven figures

  • Longer and more complex sales cycles

  • Selling on ROI and operational improvement, not simply price

  • Developing new business as well as managing existing customers

  • Working independently across a large geographic territory

Your exact equipment background is less important than understanding how to sell a technical capital investment that becomes part of a customer’s production process.

What's on offer?

Circa £55,000 basic salary, plus bonus, company car and a generous benefits package.

You'll inherit an established customer base and some existing opportunities, but with plenty of scope to develop the territory and win new business.
