Sales Estimator

Great with numbers, sharp on detail and confident dealing with customers? You don't need to be an experienced Estimator to be good at this job.

We're recruiting a Sales Estimator for a successful, established engineering-related business handling projects across the UK.

It's a busy, varied office role combining estimating, customer enquiries, quotations and commercial negotiation.

Projects range from £10,000 to £5 million, so there's plenty to get your teeth into.

The role

  • Prepare accurate quotations and tenders for customer projects

  • Review drawings, specifications and customer requirements

  • Work out material requirements and project costs

  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive prices

  • Follow up quotations and negotiate with customers

  • Build relationships with existing and new customers

  • Keep projects and enquiries moving through the sales process

What we're looking for

Above all, someone who's bright, organised, commercially aware and extremely accurate.

You'll need:

  • Excellent attention to detail and confidence working with figures

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Good organisational and IT skills

  • Confidence dealing with customers and suppliers

  • The ability to work independently and juggle competing priorities

  • A positive, hardworking attitude and willingness to learn

Experience in estimating, engineering, construction, building services or technical sales would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Full training will be provided, so we'd also welcome applications from people in sales support, technical administration, quotations or other commercially focused office roles.

What's on offer?

A salary of circa £35,000, pension and benefits, full training and the opportunity to develop valuable commercial and technical skills within an established business.

This is a full-time, office-based position.

If you're good with detail, confident with people and want a role where you can really use your brain, we'd like to hear from you.
