If you're used to managing a dozen small jobs at once, this probably isn't the role.

We're looking for a Project Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of major engineered capital equipment projects within large industrial manufacturing environments.

These are substantial, technically complex installations with long project lifecycles. You'll typically be focused on one major project at a time, taking real ownership of its successful delivery.

The Role

You'll oversee projects from the point they move into delivery through manufacture, installation, commissioning and final handover.

That will include:

• Owning the project programme and key milestones

• Coordinating engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and site activities

• Managing installation and commissioning

• Acting as a key point of contact for the customer

• Managing contractors and specialist suppliers

• Monitoring costs, timescales, quality and project risks

• Managing changes and resolving issues as projects develop

• Ensuring projects are delivered safely and to specification

These aren't quick-turnaround machinery projects. Installations can be large, complex and long-term, forming part of major manufacturing and production facilities.

Who We're Looking For

You'll already have experience managing capital equipment or major engineering projects within industrial manufacturing.

Your background could include:

• Heavy industrial equipment

• Process plant

• Mechanical handling systems

• Production plant and machinery

• Process equipment

• Tanks, vessels and pipework

• Large-scale automated or engineered systems

What's important is the scale and complexity of the projects you've managed.

You'll be comfortable dealing with engineers, contractors, suppliers and demanding industrial customers, and capable of keeping a substantial project moving when there are a lot of plates spinning.

We’re recruiting a Project Engineer for an established engineering business that designs, manufactures and installs large-scale engineered plant and equipment for major manufacturing sites.

These are complex, technically challenging projects. Not catalogue equipment. Not small machinery. You’ll be helping engineer bespoke solutions that ultimately become part of major production facilities.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced engineering and projects team, you’ll help turn customer requirements into workable engineered solutions.

You’ll be involved in:

• Developing technical specifications for new installations

• Engineering calculations and equipment sizing

• Producing and reviewing technical documentation

• Working with mechanical equipment, tanks, vessels, pipework and associated systems

• Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams

• Supporting projects through design, manufacture, installation and commissioning

• Solving the inevitable engineering challenges that come with large bespoke projects

Who We're Looking For

You could be relatively early in your engineering career. A Mechanical or Process Engineering graduate with 2–3 years' relevant experience could be ideal.

What matters is that you've gained experience around industrial process equipment or engineered systems supplied into manufacturing environments.

Experience involving tanks, vessels, pipework, process systems or similar mechanical equipment would be particularly useful.

You should be comfortable with calculations, specifications and technical detail, but also interested in seeing your engineering leave the drawing board and become a real installation.
